HOW DO PEOPLE BECOME MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH? In John 1:12 we are told that all who believed in Christ
became "sons of God." In Acts 2:47 it is stated that "the Lord added to
the church those who were being saved." Jesus told Nicodemus, who had
inquired about the Kingdom of God, that the only way into the Kingdom
of God (the Church) was by "being born again" (John 3:3). See also Ephesians
3; II Corinthians 5:17. Salvation through repentance of sin and faith
in Christ makes you a member of God's church. ![]() If you are already a Christian when you come to the local Church, and you want to unite with this local fellowship, just inform the pastoral staff. After meeting with you privately, you will be recognized appropriately publicly. Although there are no special requirements for fellowship in the local Church, there are special requirements for leadership in the local Church (Acts 6:1-8; I Timothy 3:1-13).
